REPLACEMENT FOR PRINCIPAL
Methodists’ Canvass Overseas
(New Zealana Press Association) AUCKLAND, August 25. A preliminary investigation into the appointment of a new principal for the Trinity Methodist Theological College at Auckland had been made, the Rev. M. F Clement, chairman of the college council, today told the Auckland Methodist synod. /
The present principal, the Rev. E. W. Hames, will be retiring in about two or three years. Letters had been sent to church leaders in Britain. Canada the United States and Australia Mr Clement said. All replies had stressed the extreme scarcity of minivers suitable and most had drawn attention to the great disparity in the stipend rate between what is paid in their countries and what the council had been able of offer in New Zealand.
