The all-woman expedition to Cho Oyu (“Big Head”), the world’s sixth highest mountain, has left Katmandu for its attempt on the 26.867 ft peak, American Associated Press reported. The 12 women from five nations —including three Britons—expect to establish their base camp on September 29. Summit day is October 15.
Led by Mrs Claude Kogan, of France, they were cheerful and optimistic as they set off for Cho Oyu, 50 miles west of Everest
