Birthday Gift For Judge
At the end of the British Drama League festival at the St. James Theatre on Saturday evening, the Dominion president, Mr D. S. Campbell, of Wellington, acting on behalf of the league, presented a gift to the judge, Mrs Nora Ratcliff. whose birthday falls on August 23
Speaking at the end of the festival Mrs Ratcliff remarked that she saw no reason to suppose that the South Island had a smaller population than the North Island. ‘Tn one festival in Christchurch,” she said, “I have seen more players on stage, than in both the North Island festivals put together.”
