MAGISTRATE’S COURT
SATURDAY (Before Messrs P. A. Le Brun and D. R. Carson, Justices of the Peace)
REMANDED Donald Robert Purcell, a factory hand, was remanded to August 27 on a charge of failing to report to a probation officer on his release from Paparua Prisort on July 16. He was granted bail at £lOO with one surety of £lOO. The granting of bail was opposed by Sergeant T. A. Marson, who said that Purcell had been arrested on a warrant the previous night. William Alfred Symons, of no fixed abode, was remanded until today on a charge of converting a car at Lyttelton on Saturday. He was represented by Mr G. R. Lascelles and was granted bail at £lOO with one surety of £lOO and was ordered to report daily to the police.
