New Versions Of 707
(Rec. 8 p.m.) SEATTLE, August 20. The Boeing Aircraft Company announced two new versions of the Boeing'7o7 jetliner today. They are the 707-1208 and the 707-7208, both of which will be powered by turbofan engines. These engines include a fan that acts like a short-bladed propeller to change the air velocity for greater thrust and fuel economy The turbofans will be the only major change in the B model of the intermediate-range 707-720. the company said. The longer range, 120 model, however, will have other design improvements, including wing revisions for better maximum cruising speed and runway requirements.
