Treating Mastitis
In their annual report veterinarians of the Ashburton Veterinary Club point out that research over many years has shown that there is no advantage in using doses of higher than 25,000 units of penicillin cerate for three days in treating mastitis in cows. They say that a recent survey by the Dairy Board has confirmed this. “The use of higher doses will neither affect a cure more rapidly nor achieve a higher proportion of cures.
