CLOSING THE GAP.—Areas under control of rabbit boards are marked in black on this map.. One of the main gaps in this system is in Canterbury. At meetings next week, farmers will discuss with members of the Rabbit Destruction Council, the Department of Agriculture, and members of adjoining rabbit boards a proposal to establish three new boards in an area of about a million acres between the Ashley and Rakaia rivers. These boards would largely close this gap.
