Overseas Reserves Up £50m In Year
Overseas reserves rose nearly £2m in the week ended August 12.
On that date, according to preliminary figures released yesterday by the Reserve Bank, net .overseas assets of the New Zealand banking system totalled £ 106.3 m, exactly £som more than the figure for August 13, 1958. Since the end of July, when the 1959 figure first reached the comparable 1957 figure, overseas reserves have continued to rise, while two years ago they were falling. The latest figure is £3.6m above the figure for August 14, 1957.
