COWWERCHAL Drop In Prices For B.H.P. And M.C.P.
The week’s trading on the Christchurch Stock Exchange closed yesterday with markets active and more losses than gains. B.H.P. shares, following the easier trend apparent in Australia since publication of the company’s accounts, dropped Is to sell at 545. M.C.P. shares, in first dealings since the company’s denial of a takeover bid from Griffins, lost Is 6d to sell at ss.
Reid Murray and Woolworths were also easier. One parcel of E.Z. Industries changed hands at 17s Id, unchanged, and another at 17s. Tasman changed hands at 24s 3d, compared with previous Christchurch business at 24s but more recent sales elsewhere at 24s 6d. ' -
Higher prices were paid for N.Z. Farmers’ Cooperative A preference and Felt and Textiles (N.Z.).
