Obituary MR A. BRAAE
The death occurred on Thursday of Mr A. Braae, formerly assistant manager of Dalgety and Company, Ltd. in Christchurch. He retired from that position in 1948.
Bom in Svendborg, Denmark. Mr Braae came to New Zealand when he was 23. He joined the staff of Dalgety and Company, Ltd. and served the company in Auckland, Opotiki, and Christchurch. For some years he was manager at Opotiki, where he was actively interested in the work of local bodies. In 1935 Mr Braae was transferred to Christchurch, where he was assistant manager until his retirement 13 years later. From 1948 until his death he was closely associated with the Canterbury Club.
Mr Braae was interested in bowling and racing, and was a member of the Canterbury Jockey Club, the Metropolitan Trotting Club, the New Brighton Trotting Club and the Canterbury Park Trotting Club. Mr Braae is survived by his widow, two -sons, and a daughter.
