Forecast: Marlborough and Nelson.—Fresh north-east winds at first on the Kaikoura coast, otherwise moderate northwesterlies prevailing; rain clearing this morning in remaining areas and weather mainly fair; scattered showers developing later in the day; moderate to mild temperatures. Outlook: mainly fair. West Coast.—Fresh to strong north-east winds at first, with overcast skies and rain; winds decreasing during the morning and rain easing; temperatures milder. Outlook: some rain. Canterbury.—North-east winds, strong at first this morning in exposed places; weather overcast or becoming overcast with scattered light rain, clearing around midday in North Canterbury, and later in the day elsewhere; moderate to mild temperatures. Outlook: mainly fair.
