Christchurch Country Women. —More than 100 members of the Christchurch group of the Canterbury Federation of Country Women’s Institutes went to Kaiapoi recently. Some members were taken round a milk powder processing plant, while others visited the Kaiapoi woollen mills. Members of the Kaiapoi Institute were their hosts at luncheon.

Methodist Women's Gu’ld. — The Rev. A. K. Fetch spoke on his trip to the East Asian Christian Conference at the recent annual meeting of the North Canterbury Methodist Women's Guild Fellowship. Women from many parts of North Canterbury attended the communion service taken by Mr Fetch and the Rev. H. G. Brown. A bracket of songs was provided by the Aldred memorial choir, and Mrs H. J. Farr sang a solo. The following officers were elected: president, Mrs N. G. Dailey; vice-presidents, Mesdames G. E. Bielby, A. C. Pratt, T. H. Carr, and J. Metson; secretary, Mrs W. D. M. Jamieson; treasurer, Mrs G. E. Thorpe; accommodation officer, Mrs S. Firth; country representatives, Mesdames P. V. Birkett (Leeston), H. M. Ridgen (Greendale), and C. S. Ayers (Rangiora). Dallington Mothers’ League.— The inaugural meeting of a Dallington branch of the League of Mothers was held recently with the Mayoress of Christchurch (Mrs G. Manning) and members of the provincial executive present. The history and work of the league were described by provincial office-bearers and Mrs Manning commended the high ideals being put into practice. Representatives from many city branches were present. Music was provided by the choir of the Shirley branch of the league. The following officers were elected: Acting president. Mrs R. Thomas; vice-president. Mrs J. Falloon; secretary, Mrs R. Kirk; treasurer, Mrs Bartlett; magazine secretary. Miss E. Grant; committee, Mesdames L. Moore, A. Falgar, R. Hanlon, and L. Roden.
