South Island Jockeys Beat North Island
The South Island jockeys’ footoall team was superior to the North Island team at the annual football match at the Hornby Domain yesterday. South Island won by 13 points to 6. For the South Island, N. T. Cowles scored the first try, which was converted by A. Cowan. G. T Dobbs kicked a penalty goal for South, then G. Riordan and* I. Thomas scored tries for North, making the score 8-6 in favour of South at halftime. In ‘he second half Cowles scored his second try, which E. B. Skelton converted. Mr Len Booth was referee.
