Obituary
MR A. E. CLARK A lifetime of service Io Rugby League in Canterbury ended recently with the death of Mr A. E. Clark. Mr Clark was a life member o the Linwood Rugby League Club, which he joined within a few years of its inception in 1912. He was a Rugby League referee in his younger days and was also president and chairman of the Canterbury Referees’ Association at various times. It was as an administrator of schoolboys’ Rugby League, however. that he was most noted. For many years he was a selector of representative schoolboy teams and travelled extensively I throughout New Zealand with ' them. For his work among the j schoolboy section he was awarded the life membership badge of the Canterbury Schoolboys’ Board just a few weeks before his death. For many years he was a member of the Canterbury league's i board of control and served one ■ term as its chairman.
