NEW CONSUMER COUNCIL
Regular Bulletin May Be Issued (New Zealand. Press Association) WELLINGTON. July 31. The chairman of the newlyformed Consumer Council (Mr G. E. Wood) said on Thursday that after a preliminary survey, the council had investigated ways of maintaining contact with consumers, especially by way of a regular bulletin, as was done in other countries. Radio broadcasts, news releases and a brochure setting out the aims of the service, will be used in the meantime. The council had decided that a national consumer conference should be called soon and to this conference would be invited delegates from all organisations which were interested in consumer welfare.
The council will next meet on September 1, and welcomes suggestions and inquiries on consumer matters, which should be addressed to the executive officer, P.O. Box 2492, Wellington.
