BOULDER STRIKES RAIL-CAR
Women Passengers Slightly Hurt (New Zealand Press Association) GISBORNE, July 27. Three women passengers received minor injuries when a large boulder rolled off the side of a hill between Beach loop, 20 miles south of Gisborne, and Paritu loop early this morning and struck the side of a south-bound rail-car which left Gisborne at 3.15 a.m.
It hit the second compartment of the 88-seat car, smashing six windows and causing damage to the bodywork. Although the side of the rail-car was dented, it remained on the track and was stooped immediately. The railcar continued its journey to Wellington.
