Pools Finns To Pay League

July 25 Britain’s football p< o’s firms agreed today to pay a guaranteed minimum of £245.000 a year for the privilege of using football fixture lists on their coupons. The agreement was reached at Blackpool after talks between the Pools Promoters' Association and tiie English and Scottish Football Leagues. Mr J. Richards, the English Football League president, said the amount would comprise a royalty equal to J per cent, of the gross stakes received by members of the association, less pool duty. An estimated 21 million punters spend more than £B5 million every season on the British pools. There have been wins of £300,000 and upwards.
