Team To Play Wellington
N. H. Hobson, of the Woolston club, has been appointed captain of the Canterbury hockey team to meet Wellington in a match for the New Zealand Hockey Challenge Shield in Christchurch on Saturday. I. Cumberpatch (Sydenham) has been appointed vice-captain. Tire team, which was selected by Mr J. Reece and approved at last evening’s meeting of the management committee of the Canterbury Hockey Association, is:— R. Harris (Selwyn), L. Lloyd (Sydenham), J. Abrams (Woolston), K. Thompson (University), E. Barnes (High School Old Boys), R. Gillespie (Woolston), D. James (Woolston), N. H. Hobson (Woolston), captain, J. Kiddey (High School Old Boys), K. Cumberpatch (Sydenham), T. Thomas (H)gli Scnool Old Boys).
Reserves: W. Boundy (High School Old Boys), R. Wear (Harewood). B. Aldridge (Woolston), P. Clark (West Old Boys).
M. McKinnon, the Canterbury left w'ing, was not available for selection.
