VEHICLE TESTING STATION
Disappointment In Motor Trade
The motor trade would be disappointed to learn that Christchurch City Council “overtures” for finance for another testing station had been rejected, the retiring president, of the Canterbury branch of the New Zealand Retail Motor Trade Association (Mr R. M. Buchanan) said last evening.
Mr Buchanan was speaking at the annual general meeting of the branch. He said those dealers who had to get warrants of fitness for their customers knew of the delays occurring from time to time. “They will appreciate the need for further testing facilities; not so much at the existing station, but out in the suburbs
“Travelling and waiting time are not only expensive, but also frustrating and are certainly not appreciated by clients,” Mr Buchanan said.
He added that he welcomed the new “overtime” hours of the testing station, but thought there had not been sufficient publicity about the new ho”rs
