Cases Heard In June f ; ...■ ■ Mr Raymond Ferner, S.M., and his associates, Mrs T. Green and Mr W. C. Colee, dealt with the ' following cases in the Children’s Court during June:— : s | An 11-year-old boy, who ad-’' mitted receiving stolen property,' was admonished and discharged;: .Another, aged 13, was placed under supervision for one year, oh the theft charge. « - . One 13-year-old boy, one aged ■ 15, and three aged 16, were ’ charged with theft of car parts - and placed under periods of supervision ranging from one to two years. Restitution was ordered. On charges of theft, two 15-year-old boys were placed under supervision for 12 months. Restitution was ordered.. For receiving stolen property, a youth, of 16, was made the subject of a supervision order with special conditions as to residence and work. A 15-year-old boy, charged with receiving stolen property, was placed on supervision and ordered to pay restitution. For the theft of cycle parts, a 17-year-old youth and a 14-year-old bpy were placed under supervision for a year and ordered to pay restitution. A youth, aged 17, on charges of attempted shop-breaking and theft from milk bottles, was fined £lO, ordered to make restitution and was placed under probation for 18 months. Two girls, aged 15J and 164, both previous offenders, were sentenced to Borstal. Their two 15-year-old associates in the offences of housebreaking and theft were placed on suspended sentence for one year. A youth, aged 16J, on charges ■of theft of mail, was placed under adult probation and ordered to pay restitution. Three boys, 10, 11 and 13 years, faced charges of theft of pigeons. The youngest was admonished and the two others placed under supervision for a year. Charged with the theft of tinned fruit a youth, aged 16J, was ordered to pay restitution and was admonished and discharged. A 12-year-old boy and two, aged 14, were charged with theft of cycle parts. One boy was admonished and discharged. The other two were placed under supervision for 18 months. Delinquent Girl A 16-year-old girl, found to be delinquent and not under proper control, was committed to the care of the Superintendent of Child Welfare. A youth, of 16, on charges of breaking, entering and theft and of obstructing the police was admitted to probation. On charges of theft of cycle parts a 17-yegr-old youth was admonished and discharged. After a remand in custody, a youth, of 17, was fined £5 for disorderly behaviour. Facing charges of theft, a 15-year-old girl was found to be delinquent. She was ordered io make restitution and was placed in the care of the Superintendent of Child Welfare. Having claimed to be collecting for a youth organisation two boys, aged 11 and 12 years, were charged with obtaining money by fraud. ' They were placed under supervision. A girl of 11 years, who was not under proper control, was committed to the care of the Superintendent of Child Welfare. Traffic Cases A youth, of 16, was fined £5 for not giving way to the right. For exceeding the speed limit a youth, of 16, was fined £2. For driving without due care and attention, failure to stop after an accident and for not reporting the accident, a 15J-year-old boy was fined £2O and had his licence cancelled for 18 months. For driving in a dangerous manner when not the holder of a licence ,a boy, aged 15, was fined £2 and disqualified from driving for one year. A 15-year-old girl was fined

30s for riding a cycle without a light. For driving without care and when not the holder of a correct licence a 16-year-old youth was fined £5. For driving with no warrant of fitness a 16-year-old youth was fined £l. A 16-year-old youth was fined £5 and prohibited from driving for two years as a result of his reckless driving in the city.
