THREE SKIERS INJURED
Legs Broken On Ruapehu I New Zealana Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, July 19. Eight hundred skiers spent the week-end on the slopes of Mt. Ruapehu and the accident toll was three broken legs. Mr G. Salt, of Fraser street, Devonport, aged 35, fell off the almost vertical high traverse on the Staircase and tumbled 150 feet at about 11.30 a.m. today Experienced skiers considered he was very lucky to, escape being killed. The two other accidents occurred on Saturday, both on the Staircase. Mr K. Maltsby, of Belmont, Wellington, aged 25, broke a leg at about 2.30 p.m. and an hour later Mr K. Hora, of London street, Hamilton, aged 30. received his injury All were admitted to Taumarunui Hospital.
