BAN ON SHOULDER PADS
Removal Ordered By Wellington Referee "Thu Press" Special Service WELLINGTON, July 19. The ban on the use of shoulder pads has been in force now for two seasons, but many players are still using them. Members of the Canterbury team playing Wellington at Athletic Park yesterday received a sharp reminder of the ban, however when the referee ordered the Canterbury captain, D. J Graham, m discard this piece of equipment. During the game Graham found ’t necessary to change his jersey When he stripped he was seen to oe wearing shoulder pads, and after a discussion with the referee (Mr V. Langford), he removed them.
