Economist’s View Of Budget (New Zeaiana Press Association) WANGANUI. July 17. Speaking on this year’s Bud-i get, Mr A. J. Danks, assistant professor of economics a* the Uni-| versity of Canterbury, told the Chartered Institute of Secretaries seminar in Wanganui tonight that there was still a lot of suppressed inflation in the country. He. praised the way the Minister ofi Finance (Mr Nordmeyer) had( made only a slight relaxation m( his latest Budget. “He showed a devil of a lot of! courage, and his refusal to be stampeded in the face of what happened at Hamilton was admirable,” said Mr Danks “We have been prosperous tor many years, and have been brought through our economic difficulties well. Nobody else; seems to think so, but I do.” he said “We will never again have to look forward to another big depression.”
