Alfred Munnings Dead
(Rec. 11 p.m.) LONDON. July 17. Sir’ Alfred J. Munnings, a former President of the Royal Academy, died peacefully in his sleep early today, at his home at Dedham, Essex He would have been 80 in October. . He was famous for equestrian paintings. He was President of the Royal Academy for five years from 1944 until 1949. when he resigned because he wanted to spend more time in the country.
