M.P.’s GOING OVERSEAS
Conferences In Canberra, Warsaw
<New Zealand Press Association i WELLINGTON, July 17. The Minister of Education (Mr Skoglund) will lead the New Zealand delegation to the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association’s annual conference in Canberra from November 2 to November 7.
Members of the delegation were announced tonight by the president of the New Zealand branch of the association, the Speaker (Mr Macfarlane). Other Government members of the delegation will be Messrs E J. Keating, M.P. for Hastings and T. P. Paikea. M.P. for Western Maori. Opposition members of the delegation will be Messrs S. W. Smith. M.P. for Hobson, and J. R. Hanan, M.P. for Invercargill. Messrs C. L. Carr (Government —Timaru), and T. P. Shand (Opposition—Marlborough) will represent New Zealand at the Malaya-Borneo regional conference of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association at Kuching Sarawak, in September. The Postmaster-General (Mr Moohan) and Mr D. J. Eyre (Opposition—North Shore) will represent the newly-formed New Zealand group of the InterParliamentary Union at its annual conference in Warsaw. Poland, at the end of August.
