HIGHER HOSPITAL CHARGES
Non-Social Security Services Increases in charges for services not covered by Social Security benefits in the city hospitals of the North Canterbury Hospital Board are proposed. The charges had not been reviewed for some time but in future would be reviewed annually, the finance committee reported to yesterday’s meeting of the board.
Departmental approval will be sought to make the following daily charges, the present charges being given in parentheses:— Christchurch Hospital in-patients £4 6s 6d (£3 6s); Burwood Hospital in-patients £3 6s 6d (£2 16s 6d); Cashmere Sanatorium £3 10s (£2 8s); out-patient attendances 12s 6d (6s).
