One bookmaker elevated Second Earl to outright second favourite. He previously shared that place with Grey Ghost. Gold Stakes worked brilliantlv at Doomben. He ran the first two‘furlongs of a four-furlong gallop in 23sec. then was eased down to complete the task in 50jsec. first acceptances for the Doomben Ten Thousand, about seven furlongs less 90 yards, to be run on Saturday.
