Thames Valley Beats Wairarapa, 16-12
(New Zealand Press Association) MASTERTON, June 24. The Thames Valley Rugby team beat Wairarapa by' 16 points to 12 at Masterton this afternoon in a game notable for fast, open play in the second spell. Brilliant tackling by Thames Valley was also a feature of th? game. Thames Valley led by 8 points to 6 at half-time, this spell being uninspiring. Play brightened up as the game progressed, and both sides threw the ball about. The game was played on good turf before about 2000 persons. For Thames Valley tries were scored by D. Tuki and C. Wilson. T. Shaw kicked two penalty goals and converted two tries. Wairarapa's points came from penalty goals by B. Church and J. Lett (2), and a try by J. Ford.
