MR JUSTICE HAGGITT
Appointment To Be Permanent
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 24. The Minister of Justice (Mr Mason) today confirmed that it is intended to appoint Mr Justice Haggitt a permanent Supreme Court Judge in Christchurch. Mr Mason said that Mr Justice Haggitt had been appointed as a temporary Judge because there is a statutory limit on the number of Judges New Zealand may have, and present numbers are up to that limit. Mr Justice Haggitt would remain a temporary Judge until the retirement of one of the other Judges. He would then be appointed a permanent Judge at Christchurch.
