British Action Criticised
BONN, June 23
The West German newspaper “Frankfurter Rundschau” said today that if Britain had not deprived the atom spy Klaus Fuchs of his nationality, they might have kept a highly-gifted physicist in the West “instead of enriching the East with a martyr.” Commenting on his release from gaol, the newspaper said his knowledge now was no longer news.
“But his brain, as is known in London, is a special brain in the great scientific conflict between East and West, the brain of a clever man, the brain of a martyr.”
