CADETS TO MOUNT GUARD
Opening Of Parliament Today (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON. June 23. If young in years the guard of honour for the opening of Parliament tomorrow is old in ceremonial experience, said an Army spokesman today. For one-third of the guard, which is drawn from the Army Regular’Force Cadet School, Waiouru, this will be the third full ceremonial guard of honour they [ have mounted since last April, and for the rest of the cadets the second guard of honour within a fortnight. One hundred cadets, whose average age is 17, will mount guard outside Parliament House under the command of Major S. R. McKeon, the officer commanding the cadet school.
