REPLACEMENT FOR BROPHY
Permission Given By N.Z.R.U.
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 23.
The New Zealand Rugby Union has given the British Lions manager (Mr A. W. Wilson) permission to bring out a replacement for N. H. Brophy, the Irish threequarters, who has a broken bone in his foot. This was confirmed tonight by the chairman of the N.Z.R.U. Council (Mr C. S. Hogg). A replacement, A. A. Mulligan, has already arrived for one of team's haff-backs, S. Coughtrie. “We have told the Lions that if they want to replace Brophy they are very welcome to do so,” said Mr Hogg. “We have also told them we would like Brophy and Coughtrie to carry on as our guests.”
