NEW FASHION IN LIPSTICK
While L'sed For It I e in I i it g A fashion in lipstick, like many other fashions, seems to have made the full cycle back to the beginning. Some older women will remember the days when a stick of clear or whitish lip salve, meant primarily for preventing chapped lips, was all that a woman would dare to use on her lips. On special occasions she would use it to help make her lips look ■more shiny and moist. Now white lipstick is the latest cosmetic fad to reach New Zealand from America. It can be used to blend with existing colours to create new shades. Applied over a dark red lipstick, it transi forms the colour to a fresh spring ’ pink. If it is used under an ordinary lipstick, it gives the lips a luminous, soft, glowing appearance. Another new lipstick on sale in the stores is half white and half i red.
