The Rev. B. Price, vicar of Mount Somers, has been appointed vicar of Temuka and Winchester in succession to the Rev. J. Teal. He will take up his new work at the end of August.
The Rev. K. A. Robinson, at present vicar of Oxford-Cust. has been appointed vicar of Mount Somers.
The Rev. G. H. Schurr has been appointed vicar of Oxford-Cust. He is at present vicar of Shirley and was formerly vicar of Hokitika and rural dean of Westland, and later vicar of Waikari. During the last war he was an army chaplain. Mr J. Watling, of Christchurch, was elected president of the NevZealand Rose Society at its annual meeting in Wellington on Saturday. Mr H. W. Gourlay. also of Christchurch, was elected a life member of the society and a vicepresident.
Mr M. K. Hill has joined the staff of the Winchmore irrigation research station as a member of the station team investigating lamb ill-thrift. Mr Hill, who was born on the West Coast and educated at the Methven District High School, completed his bachelor of agricultural science degree at Canterbury Agricultural College in 1957, and is now completing his master’s degree. For two years in 1952-53 he was a technician on the staff of the Winchmore station.
