A full-blooded aboriginal woman has been awarded the Royal Humane Society’s certificate of "merit for her bravery in an attempt to save the life of a white man. The native woman, Elsie Doon, aged 28. dived into the flooded FitzFoy river, in the north-west corner of Western Australia, last December, in a bid to rescue a drowning stockman. Rodney Henderson.
