ASSOCIATION FOR TRAVEL
Wider Representation Wanted
A move for wider representation of the New Zealand Travel and Holidays Association was made when the convention unanimously carried two motions put forward by Mr B. H. Paton, of the South Island Publicity Association. It was decided to ask the executive for representation on the National Historic Places Trust and regional committees, the National Parks Authority and individual national parks’ boards, and on scenic boards Consideration of steps to strengthen the powers of these statutory bodies in the direction of conservation will also be made. The organisation of publicity of sporting attractions and amenities on an over-all national basis was the object of the other motion for the executive to encourage national sports organisations to take part in the association.
