Mr Nash Awarded C.H., Four New Knights

WELLINGTON, June 12.

The Prime Minister (Mr Nash) has been appointed to the select band of Companions of Honour, which is an order limited to 65 members. This honour was awarded by the Queen on the occasion of the celebration of Her Majesty’s birthday in Britain. The award to Mr Nash was announced in the British list of honours published in the London Gazette today.

Four knighthoods for New Zealanders are included in the awards’ announced today by the Governor-General (Lord Cobham). Professor C. A. Cotton, professor of geology at Victoria University, of Wellington; two judges of the Appeal Court of New Zealand—Mr Justice Clear? and Mr Justice North—and Dr. Alexander Gillies, a Wellington orthopaedic surgeon who has given long service to the New Zealand Crippled Children Society.
