SALE OF JERSEY CATTLE

A special sale of “Lilac Grove’’ Jersey cattle was held on the property of the vendor, Mr F. W Hansen. at Rangiora recently. The offering comprised 25 cows. 13 inheifers, and three yearling heifers. . 6

There was a good attendance of buyers representing districts from Palmerston North to Southland. The top-price cow, “Lilac Grove Juliana” realised 100 guineas and an average price of guineas was obtained for the remaining cows. The top price heifer. "Lilac Grove Locket,” made 81 guineas, and there was an over-all average price of 41 guineas for in-calf heifers. Thirty-two guineas was the highest price for the rising yearling heifers," which average 28 guineas. A rising yearling bull made 90 guineas.
