AMBERLEY CLUB’S FIRST SEASON
Successful Year Reported
A successful first season was reported by the Amberley Trotting Club at its annual meeting. Within three months the membership had grown to nearly 300 and by the end of the first year it stood at 338 Mr H. Adlington, who presided over ’’n attendance of 40 members, said that he and the other officers were more than pleased with the growth of the membership The club's first meeting had been most successful and as nominations numbered 152 it was necessary to mn ’2 races to ensure a start for all entrants. Although this made a large <-nd comprehensive programme, the last race was started almost on time.
Fifteen maiden pacers. which -tarted in the four qualifying races, gained times enabling them to qualify to start at totalisator meetings, reported Mr Adlington. A profit of £lO 7s lid was reported for he meeting, and a credit balance of £340 4s 1d was recorded for the vear Officers elected were:—
