SUCCESSFUL DEBUT
H. Vette, a Kaiapoi indoor bowler, justified his inclusion in the Canterbury representative indoor bowling team with a series of good performances against the Marlborough representative team in the recent A. S. Paterson trophy match. His accurate drawing in the rinks helped his teams in their two wins and although losing one pairs game, Vette came back in the second with a good win, by brilliant bowling on the last head to snatch an almost sure win away from the Marlborough team.
Vette performed extremely well in the singles with two wins, his second one by the huge margin of 20 to 2. In this match Vette won every head, although there was good accurate bowling by his opponent.
