“Perfect Furlough” For Corporal
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 28. It was “the perfect furlough” for paratrooper Corporal Bob Withers, of Geraldine, and Deborah Boden, of the Wellington Public Relations Office, when they toured the capital today in support of the Army recruiting campaign, and the promotion of a Universal - International motion picture. The couple had a busy time. A radio interview was broadcast, the car which carried them about the city blazoned its news from a loudspeaker, and they were introduced to a large audience in the theatre this evening. The night finished in the Majestic Cabaret. It wac a particularly exciting day for Corporal Withers, because his fiancee, Sergeant Joyce Queripel. arrived in the city . from Burnham this morning. 'The engaged couple plan to make it another perfect furlough tomorrow on a shopping expedition.
