Nurse’s Scholarship.— Miss N. Kinross, a tutor sister at Christchurch Hospital, has been awarded a British Commonwealth nurses’ ward memorial scholarship for the 1959-60 academic year. She will attend the University of California to complete a degree in nursing education. In the meantime, she will be attached, at the request of the Health Department, to the postgraduate school in Wellington as a tutor sister.

Tai Tapu Garden Club.— The annual meeting of the Tai Tapu Garden' Club was held recently when the following officers were elected: —President, Mrs L. Dulieu: vice - presidents. Mesdames F. Hauschild and W. C. Miller; secretary. Mrs D. O’Connor; committee. Mesdames Barwick. Graham. Hall, Ryan. Scorgie, Messrs Gibbon and Gebbie. Trophies for the year were awarded as follows: Decorative, A class, Mesdames Hauschild and Mrs Ryan, equal.
