LONDON. May 27. The wife and five-year-old daughter of a Russian diplomat have been reported missing in London, Scotland Yard said today. The woman, Mrs Nine Dmitriev, aged 35, is the wife of Captain Aleksander Dmitriev, aged 38, an assistant naval attache at the Russian Embassy in London. Mrs Dmitriev and her daughter, Lena, were due to spend last week-end with him at the embassy’s holiday mansion at Hawkhurst, in Kent.
The captain was reported to have left his London flat for Hawkhurst on Saturday with two other embassy officials. Mrs Dmitriev and the girl left shortly afterwards, but failed to arrive. It is understood that the mother and daughter speak very little English. Russian Embassy officials refused to comment.
