Surrey accepted the challenge from the Indians to score 202 in two hours to win at the Oval today, but found the task beyond them—finishing with 151 for two to draw the match. . .. After Gaekwad declared the Indians* second innings closed at 205 for three the county champions soon lost R. C. E. Pratt, but M. J. Stewart and K. F. Barrington, by lively stroke play, added 92 in 80 minutes. Surrey needed 87 in the last halfhour, but B. Constable and Barrington found Gupte, Nadkarni, and Muddiah, the Indian spinners, too accurate to punish heavily.
