Big Increase In Entries

(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 17.

Wool to be sold at the final sales of the New Zealand woolselling season—in Napier. Wanganui and Wellington—during the next 10 days is coming forward at a far greater rate than anticipated at the start of the season. It appears as though between 90,000 and 100.000 bales will be offered at these sales compared with the original estimate of about 70.000 bales. The first of these final sales is at Napier tomorrow when more than 35,600 bales will be auctioned. The original amount was expected to be about 25,000. At Wanganui on Wednesday the offering will total around 25,000 bales, about 5000 more than expected. The final sale of the season, in Wellington on May 25, will probably see more than 30,000 bales offered—compared with the original estimate of 25.000 bales.

Coles’ Hobart Store.—G. J. Coles and Company, Ltd., plans to build its largest Tasmanian store in Hobart. and will participate with other stores in development of a big shopping mall. The company has bought one of the properties of Charles Davis, Ltd., 100-year-old Hobart wholesale and retail group. It has also made deals with Edments Pty.. Ltd., and others for the new Coles store in Elizabeth street, Hobart.
