LORD BLEDISLOE’S GRAVE
Annual Wreath From New Zealand
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 17. The Early Settlers’ and Historical Association of Wellington has agreed to organise the establishment of a fund of £lOO the interest from which would provide in perpetuity a wreath to be laid each year on the grave of Viscount Bledisloe, a former Governor-General of New Zealand.
The secretary of the association (Mr C. J. Freeman) said the Prime Minister (Mr Nash) and the president of the association had suggested the establishment of the fund because of the way in which Viscount Bledisloe had endeared himself to the people of New Zealand.
Mr Freeman said he had received a cheque for the fund from the Prime Minister. A Dominionwide appeal was made for contributions so that the memorial might be representative of the whole of the people of New Zealand.
