Situation.— A. depression lies to the north and east of the North Island, while an anti-cyclone covers the south-west Tasman Sea and southern New Zealand. Forecast:— West Coast, Nelson and Marlborough except the Kaikoura coast.—Moderate south-east or east winds; weather fine and cool. Outlook: fair. Kaikoura coast and Canterbury.—Moderate to fresh southerly winds; weather cloudy and cold with scattered brief showers at first. Outlook: fair.
