TRAPPED INSIDE CAR
Two Injured In 100 ft Fall
(New Zealand Press Association) WANGANUI, May 15.
A driver was flung from his south-bound car when it skidded off the Parapara highway early last night, but his wife- and daughter were trapped inside as the vehicle toppled down a 100 ft cliff. All three survived. The driver was Harry Hayward, aged 42, a taxi operator. Market street, Ngaruawahia, who was accompanied by his wife. Jean Iris Hayward, and theii daughter, Lynn. A Waimarino Hospital ambulance went to the scene, 13 miles south of Raetihi, and brought ail three to the Wanganui Hospital. Mr Hayward received chest injuries and severe shock, the hospital authorities reporting today that his condition was comfortable. It was not found necessary to admit Mrs Hayward or her daughter.
