Training begins Next Term. 2559 THE UNIVERSITY OF ADELAIDE WAITE AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH INSTITUTE Applications are invited from graduates or graduates-elect with an Honours Degree for a RESEARCH STUDENTSHIP IN PLANT PHYSIOLOGY under a special grant from the Australian Atomic Energy Commission. The student will be expected to undertake research for a higher degree. The research project will involve the seting up of automatic scintillation counting equipment for the measurement of Carbon-14 and the use of this technique for the measurement of uptake, translocation, and de-activation by plants of radioactive growth-regulators. Previous training in chemistry, physics, and plant physiology is desirable. The stipend will be within the range of £BOO-1000 per annum, depending on previous experience, and the Studentship is tenable for two years. Further information may be obtained from Dr. L. H. The Librarian will be responsible for the organisation and control of the College Library, and may be required to lecture on library procedures. Appointee will be required to commence duties this year, from a date to be arranged, to assist in the establishment of the library and allied work.
