lyp«D/gKi\oF son CHRISTADELPHIAN LECTURE BIBLE HALL Madras st., near Tuam st., Sunday, 7 p.m. (God willing) Subject: WHO IS WISE IN GOD'S SIGHT To the consternation of the learned in this age and past ages the Apostle Paul asks the questions: Where is the wise, where is the scribe—the critic? 1 Cor. 1: 20. The Bible teaches that the wisdom of man is foolishness, as Paul also relates in the same place, by asking, hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? God Himself declares through Isaiah 53: 8. that his thoughts are not our thoughts, nor His ways our ways. Also He declares that as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are His thoughts and ways above man's (V. 9). Many think that “good living” people must live lives that are commendable to God, but unless, as Scripture plainly decrees there is conformity to God’s will, such folk are doomed to die and remain in the grave. It is written: Man that is in honour (in man’s sight) and understandeth not (God's commands) is like the beasts that perish. Psa. 40: 20. The wise man seeks for the true wisdom and digs for it as for hid treasure. To the earnest seeker God reveals Himself.—See Proverbs 2, Psa. 119: 5, John 14: 4,5: 6. Matt. 7: 7 to 11.
